Questions
No. Everything BreakEven tracks (fees, rates, session history) is stored in a local file next to your Resolve data. There's no account, no server, no telemetry.
It's built entirely on Resolve's standard scripting API, the same one used by both editions. It doesn't touch anything Studio-exclusive.
Just DaVinci Resolve, on macOS or Windows. BreakEven is a single Lua file that runs on the scripting engine already built into Resolve. No Python, no account, no internet connection.
Double-click Install Mac.command (or Install Windows.bat). It copies the one file into Resolve's Scripts folder for you. Restart Resolve and open it from Workspace ▸ Scripts ▸ Utility ▸ BreakEven, and it's there for every project after that.
On a Mac, if it says the file can't be opened because it's from an unidentified developer, right-click Install Mac.command, choose Open, then confirm once. After that it runs normally.
On the next launch, BreakEven finds the unfinished session and offers to recover it up to the last moment it was running. You choose whether to save it or discard it.
Yes. Pick your currency from the menu and every amount in the app switches to it.
You track live by pressing Start/Stop, and every session is saved with a note. There's no manual time-entry field, by design. The whole point is the number you see is real.
